1946 : Birth of Alain Bertrand near Paris.
He is very early sent to a boarding school near Evreux. This isolation and the proximity of the American base were decisive in the formation of his tastes. He discovered rock'n'roll, Elvis Presley, cigarettes and... American cars.
After the army, he ended up at Renault. He will stay there for 11 years controlling the R5 and R12.
At the same time, he paints, mainly cars, and starts to place his drawings in comics newspapers (Tintin, Pilot...).
1976 : Revelation during a first trip to the USA. From now on, the main part of his production will be devoted to the USA...Other trips will follow in his two favourite regions: Arizona and New Mexico.
1979 : Collaboration with Alain Marouani of the "Barclay records" for the creation of numerous record sleeves including a box set of 11 albums of Eddy Mitchell. Collaboration with Francis Coppola on the creation of the "Coup de Coeur" poster. Creation of the poster for the film "Y-a-t'il il un français dans la salle". Poster for the film " Mamy dearest " with Faye Dunaway. Works in the United States on advertising campaigns (New York Telephon, Atari, Jeep Cherokee, etc.).
From 1982 to 1990: Created with Patrice and Christian Larue: BAHAMAS, a group of illustrators who signed numerous national advertising campaigns - Darty, Roussel, Renault, Peugeot, Mars (Twix). This group of illustrators presented individual works, notably at the illustrators' fairs at the Espace Austerlitz in Paris in 1984 and 1985. Silver Market" prize awarded by Mécanorma.
From 1988 to 1996: Numerous exhibitions: Nice Acropolis, Château de Cogolin, Hippodrome de Cagnes sur mer, Art expo in Bordeaux, Salon Rétromobile, Expo au grand prix de Monaco.
1996: Collaborates with Steven Spielberg on Jurassic Park II (The Lost World).
1997 : Illustrations of Christine Bravo's texts for a collection " Les animaux qui font peurs " (Animals that make fears) published by Michel Lafon.
1998 to 2015: he exhibits every year at Retromobile Porte de Versailles in Paris.
Since 1999: he has exhibited at the Ariel Sibony Gallery in Paris 10 exhibitions, Catto Gallery in London 11 exhibitions and Opera Gallery in Miami, New York and Singapore. In the Bartoux Galleries in Honfleur and Saint Paul de Vence, in the New Form Gallery in Malmoe in Sweden, in Chicago, in Faro in Portugal, in the Neel Gallery in Cannes, Mecanica in Paris.........etc
In 2005: he is chosen to exhibit in the VIP room at the Tennis Master at Flushing Meadows.
In 2014: he exhibits at the Carlton in Cannes during the film festival.
